Perched at over 690 meters, Stavrovouni Monastery is one of the oldest and most sacred monasteries in Cyprus, founded in the 4th century AD by Saint Helena. The monastery sits atop a dramatic mountain, offering breathtaking views of the island. The hiking trail leading to the monastery is a rewarding adventure, featuring steep mountain paths, scenic viewpoints, and a spiritual atmosphere.
Key Attractions: Stavrovouni Monastery (historic religious site, monks still live here), Panoramic mountain views overlooking Cyprus, and Scenic nature trail with pine forests and rock formations.
Best Time to Visit: Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Oct-Dec, avoid summer due to high temperatures on the exposed trail.
